FIGHTTT! ... Well Almost
Shelley Duncan of the Yankees almost started a pre-season brawl at the game today. Duncan lead off the second inning with a base hit that he tried to stretch into a single. While sliding into 2nd Duncan lifted up his left cleat to Akinori Iwamura's thigh. This caused the benches to clear. The 1st to go at Duncan was Jonny Gomes the first to great and tackle Duncan. After the game this is what Duncan had to say:
“I just went hard into his glove. I was just going in hard. There was no malicious intent.”here is the picture of the actual image:
It is clear that Duncan did that on purpose and it was a response to the home plate collision just a few days ago. This is going to be an interesting when these teams meet in the regular season
