Francisco Cervelli Injured in Collision

Rotoworld:

Francisco Cervelli suffered a fractured wrist when he was run over by Elliot Johnson in the ninth inning of Saturday's game.

The Yankees are awfully mad about about the collision instigated by Johnson, but it's not like Johnson went out of his way. Cervelli had the plate completely blocked and was ready for what was going to happen. That he ended up with the fracture anyway was just awful luck. He could miss the first month or two of Double-A Trenton's season.

Now I did not see this I was watching the Mets game in which Pelfrey started off great, but then exploded, but anyway from what I understand Joe Girardi is absolutely furious seeing as he said this:
“I think it’s uncalled for in spring training. You get people hurt and that’s what we got, we got Cervelli hurt,” Girardi said.
Don't know what to make of it; he can go both ways about it a guy playing hard and then there is the fact that its spring training and for someone to get injured there is bad.

In other Yankee news pitcher Mark Melancon was sent to the minors.
