Go Big Pelf!
Today the Mets made the announcement on who was the #5 starter El Duque or Big Pelf. Despite having poor performances at the end of spring the Mets chose to go with Mike Pe
lfrey and put El Duque on the DL so he could have sort of an extended spring training. We have to remember Pelfrey is still only 24 and someone like John Maine didn't put it together until he was 26 and look at what he turned into.
They also decided to go with Brady Clark over Fernando Tatis which was the right move and I am glaad the realized that even though there were reports that Tatis was going to win the spot.
Their last decision was over the last bullpen spot and Joe Smith took those honors beating out Nelson Figueroa, Brian Stokes, and Ricardo Rincon.
