Following tonight’s game, Omar Minaya announced the Mets have acquired OF Trot Nixon from the Diamondbacks for cash or a player to be named later.....Nixon is one of those hard-nosed, grinding players the Mets need right now. It is more of a leadership move than anything, but Nixon can produce to go along with his leadership. He is currently hitting .309 with 10 home runs in Triple A so if he can bring any of that production to go along with his leadership it could help the Mets turn it around a little bit. This is not the change they need, there still has to be more, but this is definitely a start in the right direction.
