Crystal Soon to be Bomber
Yahoo:
Billy Crystal will get to “look mahvelous” in pinstripes. The actor will sign a one-day, minor league contract with the New York Yankees and play in Thursday’s exhibition game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Crystal, an avid Yankees fan, will work out with the team on Wednesday and will wear uniform No. 60 for the game—to be played one day before his 60th birthday. The Yankees said Monday they have the approval of baseball commissioner Bud Selig.
I have very mixed feelings on this. The fan side of me thinks this is really really really cool. I mean just imagine putting on the pinstripes, even if for a couple of hours, and play baseball with the likes of Alex Rodriguez and Derek Jeter in an actual major league baseball game. This is every fan's ultimate dream.
The other side of be thinks it is a little weird to have Billy Crystal in a baseball game. It may play effect that I am not a Billy Crystal fan, but not sure. Who knows though maybe he will wind up getting a hit, although highly unlikely, or do something that is amazing. Whatever it will still be funny to watch Billy Crystal in the field.
And if you're curious they did not pick his position yet.
