Mets Announce 1st Week Starting Rotation
Here is the 1st week's rotation:
March 31: Johan Santana at Marlins
April 1: Pedro Martinez at Marlins
April 2: Oliver Perez at Marlins
April 4: John Maine at Braves
April 5: *Fifth Starter* at Braves
April 6: Johan Santana at Braves
April 8: Pedro Martinez vs. Phillies
The 5th starter is the big question. The Mets went with the L-R-L-R for the 1st 4 and the possible options for the 5th starter is Mike Pelfrey, Orlando Hernandez, Nelson Figueroa, Jorge Sosa, and Jon Niese. The odds are Niese will not win it, but there is a small chance he can if he does well in his start replacing Johan Santana(not due to injury). The most logical choice would be Jorge Sosa or Orlando Hernandez. I am going to say Sosa gets to make one spot start and than he will serve as the long man out of the pen that way it saves some options for Pelfrey and Niese.
