Rangers Playing in Yankee Stadium?
TSN.ca:
The NHL, New York Rangers and New York Yankees are closing in on a deal that would see an outdoor hockey game played at Yankee Stadium in 2009, reports the New York Daily News. With the success of the Winter Classic between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Buffalo Sabres this past January, the NHL has been looking into the possibility of holding more outdoor games. Since the Yankees will be moving into a new stadium in 2009, the proposed hockey game would be the final sporting event held at old Yankee Stadium.
Wow that would be amazing. Rangers playing in Yankee Stadium is something I never thought I would hear. The seats would be flying like hot cakes and worth a fortune, but it would be amazing. I am curious as a season ticket holder if I would have first change at tickets and if so it would be one of the best experiences of my life. Islanders and Devils won't be their opponent, however, and will most likely be a team like Detroit with a big fan base/media market. I hope they get this deal done because the Penguin's game was cool to watch.
