Rangers Sign Soryal
Rangers.com
"Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that the club has agreed to terms with free agent forward Justin Soryal.
Soryal, 20, has skated in 56 games with the Peterborough Petes of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) this season, registering 15 goals and 22 assists for 37 points, along with 140 penalty minutes. He currently ranks sixth on the team in goals (15), fifth in assists (22), tied for fifth in points (37), and ranks second in penalty minutes (140)."
I didn't know anything about him and here are some videos I found:
I really like what I see from this kid. He is big and strong and looks like he has a nose for the net. He does not look like a real skill guy, but crashes the net and knows how to play the game. I also liked that he takes crap from no one and has no problem with dropping the gloves to stick up for himself or someone else and is fairly good at it. We have to remember Dan Girardi was an unsigned free agent and few years ago and now he is one of our top defensemen. Soryal reminds me of a bigger version of Sean Avery, maybe he will have the same results.... yeah okay, but it's fun to dream.
