Tigers Like Heilman
"The Mets love Marcus Thames, but they're not going to trade Aaron Heilman for him."Stark goes on to say that the Mets would love to have Thames or Nady but they do not want to give up Heilman, Niese, or Parnell to get either of them. He goes on to add they might go after the usual suspects (Juan Rivera or Reed Johnson), but throws a new one in there Ryan Freel.
Boy would I love to have Thames, but that price is just too high. Thames has ridiculous power and is in the Willy Mo Pena class of crazy power blocked in crowded outfields. The man averaged a homer every 15 at bats last year which is sick. With it now official Rodney will start the year on the DL hopefully they get nervous and take Jorge Sosa and other arms for him.
I wouldn't want someone like Freel because speed is really not something we need, but Juan Rivera would be nice even though I doubt we get him.
