Knicks Deadline News

Bunch of news today from ESPN:

  • A league source told The Post the Knicks and Orlando discussed trades in recent days involving their two backup point guards, Carlos Arroyo and Keyon Dooling, but were in a stalemate.
  • Eddy Curry is NOT expected to be traded before today's 3p.m. deadline even though Miami coach Pat Riley did express some interest in acquiring the Knicks' struggling center. Not sure who the Knicks would want from the Heat maybe they can get the 1st round pick ;-)
  • The trade values of Curry and Zach Randolph have fallen so sharply it would seem difficult to make a major trade involving them that makes sense. However, it seems like the Knicks are talking Randolph trades as you will see in a second.
  • Isiah Thomas is committed to exiling Zach Randolph and is in serious trade negotiations with the Denver Nuggets and Milwaukee Bucks, the Daily News has learned.
  • A Nuggets source indicated Wednesday night that the Knicks were considering a deal for Brazilian forward Nene, who recently began light workouts one month after surgery to remove a malignant tumor from his right testicle. Denver was also trying to make a deal for Sacramento's Ron Artest.
  • Also, a league source told The News that the Bucks' owner, Milwaukee Sen. Herb Kohl, yesterday rejected a trade that would have sent Randolph and either Fred Jones or Jared Jeffries to Milwaukee for a package including Bobby Simmons, Charlie Bell and Dan Gadzuric, who all have long-term contracts. -- New York Daily News
