Mets News
- The SI.com writer said the Mets and Tigers are discussing a Marcus Thames for Jorge Sosa swap. Thames definitely fits the Mets' needs, though Sosa seems a little light for him-MLBTR
- According to The Record Billy Wagner has been working on a new pitching style. Apparently he will be trowing his change-up and curveball more in an effort to adapt to his age.
- Some possible players to play first base/back up include Nick Johnson, Scott Hatteberg, Richie Sexson, Tony Clark, Kevin Millar, and Dan Johnson.
I really would not mind seeing the Jorge Sosa for Thames swap. I have always liked Thames and he could play OF/1st which is exactly what we need and the Tigers need relieve help after Zumaya and Rodney got injured. Getting Richie Sexson also would not be bad if the Mariners ate some of his contract. Sexson used to be one of the best 1st baseman, but has played horribly since going to Seattle. Nick Johnson and Dan Johnson would also be nice and Dan Johnson could come relatively cheap because he is out of options and Daric Barton will be playing 1st.
