Lester Throws No-No

Jon Lester pumps fist
after no-hitter 5/19

May 19th, 2008 Jon Lester becomes the 18th no-hitter in Boston Red Sox history in a 7-0 victory over the Kansas City Royals. It is the second Red Sox no-hitter in as many years, when fellow phenom Clay Buchholz hurled a no-hitter in his 2nd career start. It is fun to note the last two no-hitters belong to the Red Sox. What makes Lester's so special is the fact that he is just returned from cancer last year and has managed to do something he could not even dream of less than two years ago. Even though it is Boston even Yankee fans have to applaud this courageous kid on his efforts tonight. Congrats Jon Lester and hopefully you will have continued success in the big leagues.
