Mets Recap Game #2

Not the type of game you wanted to see following the 1st game. The one person you cannot blame for the loss is the person who took the loss in the 7-1 shellacking by the Reds. Mike Pelfrey(below)managed to pitch 6 innings of 2-run ball and took the loss(2-3) Pelfrey got better as the game moved along and had a 1:3 B/K ratio. He was hitting 93-94 with that nice sinker and throw his slider for strikes. It was not the best start, but he is improving and showing signs of what he will do in the future.

Duaner Sanchez was completely awful. He was worse than his line lets off (1 inning, 2 runs, 4 hits) It appeared like it was much worse, but I am going to cut him slack because he has been amazing coming back from the injury. The other 3 runs were all unearned runs that Billy Wagner gave up so he still has a 0.00 ERA. Aaron Heilman and Jorge Sosa, who also pitched the 1st game, gave up no runs in their innings.

There was really no one who stood out on offense. Carlos Delgado did get a hit extending his hitting streak to 8 games and went a combined 4-8 in the two games. Jose Reyes and Carlos Beltran each hit a double and David Wright got his 30th RBI. What happened to the Gold Glove D.Wright? He got his 8th error of the season not helping out the voters who clearly went with the popular vote.
