Mets v. Braves 4-2 (L)
Yeah! The Mets have become a bellow .500 team at 22-23. This could mark the end of Willie Randolph who after being under the watchful eye made some idiotic comments and got swept by the Atlanta Braves.
Final | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | R | H | E |
NYM | 0 | 2 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 2 | 8 | 1 |
ATL | 0 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 3 | 0 | 0 | 4 | 12 | 0 |
Everything was looking good to start the game. The Carloses went back-to-back in the second to give the Mets a 2-0 lead at the time and Johan Santana had only given up 1 run, however, everything was about to take a turn for the worst when the 7th inning came.
Kelly Johnson lead off with a double and was moved to third by Tim Hudson. Omar 'frickin' Infante came to the plate and drove him in with an RBI single on an 94 mph Santana fastball. Then Mr. Multiathlete Mark Kotsay hit a single and so did Mr. I am hitting.412 Larry Jones to drive in a run 3-2. Mark Teixeira drove in the final run of the game with an RBI single.
In the 9th it looked like something would get started when David Wright got on base, but then got doubled off on a scorching line drive to the second baseman by Carlos Beltran were Wright could not get back in time.
Willie = Good as gone
