Yankees v. A's 4-1 (W)

お誕生日おめでとう松井秀喜!!!!!!!!

Apparently that is how you say 'Happy Birthday Hideki Matsui' in Japanese, but who really knows so we will just go with that. After his little show last night he deserves another happy birthday so why don't we say it again. お誕生日おめでとう松井秀喜!!!!!!!!

HR: Matsui (7)

After Last night's lose I wrote that the Yankees were going to need Andy Pettitte to step up and pitch a great game and he did just that. He pitched 8 innings, giving up only 1 earned run on 5 hits with 6k's and 1 walks. You always no it is a good sign when you only have two pitchers in

Matsui after his grand slam

one game and they are your starting pitching and closer. And Mariano Rivera followed up Pettitte's amazing start with a scoreless inning, something Billy Wagner has not been able to accomplish recently.

Its the top of the 6th, one out, bases loaded, Joe Blanton on the mound, Ken Singleton announces he gives up a lot of grand slams, the birthday boy Hideki Matsui steps up to the plate and guess what happens. That is right Hideki Matsui launches a grand slam to deep right center field providing all of the offense for the Yankees.

Other than that it was a pretty boring game, but hey they Yanks are now back over .500.
