Giants' News

The New York Giants and Super Bowl winning head coach, Tom Coughlin, are close to signing a 4 year extension believed to be around the $20-24 million dollar range. The two sides are very close and an agreement is supposed to come out in the next few days. It was uncertain before the Super Bowl run if the Giants would re-sign Tom Coughlin, but Coughlin is now golden after delivering this city a championship.

The other big name free agent Gibril Wilson does not seem close to signing a contract. It is not only important for the Giants to re-sign him because of their weak secondary and specifically a weak group of safties, they fear rival Philadelphia Eagles will try and snag him away. Both teams have a similar defense, due to the fact they have shared the same defensive coordinator and it should be their #1 priority to make sure Wilson is signed long term. The Giants will also begin speaking LB Kawika Mitchell who played excellent in the Super Bowl and RB Derrick Ward. Also look for Reuben Droughns to be released.

In other news the Eagles franchised LJ Smith, Ravens Terrell Suggs, Cardinals Karlos Dansby, Bengals Stacy Andrews, and Chiefs Jared Allen.
