Johan Santana Signs His Contract

Si.com and Ken Rosenthal have reported that the deal is worth $137.5 million over a span of 6 years with a $7 million dollar signing bonus. The $7 mill is added to his 2008 salary and brings his record contract to a whopping $150.75 million dollars. When the deal went down I predicted a 6 year contract worth $144 million dollar contract. I was a good money/year prediction ,however, I added in an extra option year that is not present in the actual contract. It is a great day for Met fans and the Mets organization. Let's all thank Omar Minaya for making the trade and Fred Wilpon for opening up the check book and giving $150 million to one player.
