Castillo Wants Rest
MLB:
"After missing three of the Mets' first 12 games and most of Spring Training, Luis Castillo says he could use a rest. The Mets second baseman acknowledged as much on Tuesday night after playing in a game that followed an off-day.
"Sometimes, I do [need a rest]," Castillo said. "When I play three or four games in a row, maybe I can get a day off. I'm going to ask Willie [Randolph] about it."
Castillo says his surgically cleaned out right knee remains sore. He missed games April 9-11 after playing two straight days."
..This guy has to frickin be kidding me. He isn't getting paid for 4 years to sit on the bench. He has to toughen up and play through a little pain in his knee. Wasn't the whole purpose of his surgery to stop his knees from aching? He should play at least 1 1/2 weeks or about 10 games before he takes a year off.
