Mets Sign Vargas


The Mets have signed right handed free agent pitcher Claudio Vargas. Vargas will go to New Orleans and pitch a couple of weeks to get his arm lose and will move into the rotation taking a spot from Nelson Figueroa(unless Pelfrey has a melt down).

Matthew Cerrone falsely reported that he can hit the upper 90's which is not true at all. Vargas tops out at 92-93, but has a good curveball that he uses a lot to get K's and and throws a decent change.
