Kazmir Signs Extension

Tampa Bay left-hander Scott Kazmir agreed Wednesday to a $28.5 million, three-year extension through 2011, a deal with a club option that could raise the contract's value to $39.5 million over four seasons.

See that picture Met fans? That is Scott Kazmir all the way back in 2002 when he was drafted by the New York Mets 15th overall. It was the 1st time in a while the Mets had drafted someone who has become an absolute ACE. One of the most talented pitchers in the league was GIVEN away in a trade for VICTOR ZAMBRANO and will now remain there. With the way this team will grow, so will their payroll and Kaz may remain there longer than expected.
