Yankees v. Rays 2-1 (W)


MOOOSSSEEEE!!! Mike Mussina was just in complete control today. Considering how bad last year was and how he started this season he has come a long way. It's nice to have someone other than Wang have to play stopper for a change. The bad offense has overshadowed it, but the starting and relief pitching has been spectacular over the last couple of games.

The bullpen was amazing yet again. This is the reason why Joba Chamberlain still has not made a transition to the rotation. He is the one who anchors it and keeps everything flowing. The last two games he has just came in throwing hard and today he struck out the side in the 8th bridging the gap to Mariano Rivera.

Mo was able to bounce back after last night's blown game to to come out and pitch a perfect 9th innign for his 11th save of the season.

Robinson Cano with the offense. He was struggling as much as anyone in the league, but tonight he did not show it. 4-4 with 1 RBI, raising his AVG. to .205, .006 points. Bobby Abreu had the other RBI and it was a good sign that both of them drove in the runs with 2 outs in the inning. The only negative from Robbie's game was his 3rd caught stealing.
