Yankee Injury Updates

  • Alberto Gonzalez was called up to play short while Derek Jeter is out. To make room for him Shelly Duncan was optioned to Triple A.
  • The reason Ian Kennedy did not start the game and Brian Bruney did was because the Yanks did not want to waste a start from him with rain in the forecast. This made no sense seeing how he was used in relief anyway.
  • It was being reported that Morgan Ensberg had a sprained ankle, but it seems he was fine.
  • Jorge Posada has a shoulder strain and will not miss any alarming amount of time and will only have to sit out for a few games.
